Our Mission
The Whitfield County Juvenile Court is an independent juvenile court organized under Chapter 11 of Title 15 of the Official Code of Georgia. The Court is dedicated to serving the residents of Whitfield County by hearing all cases involving allegations of deprivation and unruly conduct of children under the age of eighteen years, delinquency or traffic violations concerning children under the age of seventeen found within it's jurisdiction. If, after adjudication, a child is found to be in need of treatment, rehabilitation or supervision to safely remain in the community, the court will provide access to appropriate treatment programs whenever feasible.
The Whitfield County Juvenile Court staff has 15 full time employees and one part-time Volunteer Coordinator. An office is also provided for one part-time CASA Coordinator. Judicial functions are provided by 1 full time Judge,1 part-time associate judge. The day-to day operations are managed by a full-time Juvenile Court Administrator.
Supervision and diversion of at-risk delinquent and unruly children are provided by six (6) full time probation officers. There are bi-lingual staff members to serve the members of the Hispanic community. The staff also includes 1 Paralegal.
The Whitfield County Juvenile Court is located in Dalton, (Whitfield County), Georgia and is a department within the government of Whitfield County. Whitfield County is located approximately 90 miles northwest of Atlanta, Georgia, on Interstate 75 and U.S. Highways 41 and 76.
