A Message from the Sheriff
It is our mission at the Whitfield County Sheriffs’ Office to promote a feeling of safety and security to the citizens of this community. We are determined to provide a high quality of law enforcement services related to the protection of life and property, by taking active steps to prevent criminal activity. We are committed to detecting and investigating criminal activity; by the apprehension and incarceration of offenders and the enforcement of criminal laws. We are committed to our constitutional authority to an effective and efficiently managed jail facility, court services and civil process. We pride ourselves on ethics, honesty, openness, and fairness in our profession. We value respect, honoring the rights and dignity of each person we are called upon to serve.
The Whitfield County Sheriff’s Office will host a 287(g) Steering Committee Meeting on Monday, 12/21/15, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the at the Whitfield County Detention Center (add address). The public is invited to attend the meeting, which will focus solely on 287(g) issues. If a member of the public wishes to speak or ask questions, he/she must notify Program Manager D. Eleazer at 404-681-1562 or Program Manager M. Johns at 404-681-1559 in advance and no later than Friday, 12/11/15. Names, organizations, if any, must be provided along with agenda requests and questions. An agenda for the meeting will be set no later than Friday, 12/17/15.
