Officer Judy Lewis

Officer Judy Lewis started working for the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office in 1983 as a reserve officer.  After eight months in the reserves, she became a full time employee.  Even though she is a full time employee, she decided to continue in her position in the reserves where she holds the rank of Captain.  During her 18 years with the Sheriff's Office, she has worked as an I.D. Tech, Detention Sergeant, and spent twelve years in the Court Services/ Warrant Division.  However, Judy is quick to tell you that her last year as a DARE instructor has been the most rewarding.

Judy is married to Leon Lewis who is also a deputy serving as a school resource officer at the Phoenix Centre High School.  Leon is retired from the Military with over 21 years of service.  During his military career Leon spent two years in Vietnam and also a tour of duty in Desert Storm.  Judy has two daughters, Celeste who works for the Georgia State Patrol and Angela who works for the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office.  Judy's family almost make up a precinct of their own.
