Uniform Patrol

The basic element of the Uniform Division are the Patrol Squads. The squads are made up of a watch commander, usually a Lieutenant, a Sergeant and several Deputies. The average squad numbers 8 to include the supervisors. Deputies assigned to these squads work 12 hour shifts in a seven days on seven days off rotation.

As the "back bone" of the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office, the Uniform Division is comprised of some 50 plus Deputies and support staff. The primary function of this Division is the handling of calls for service generated by the public. The calls for service range anywhere from bomb threats to domestic violence.

The Division operations include the Uniform Patrol Squads, Animal Control, and the P.A.C.E. Unit (Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement). Each of these elements function together to achieve a common goal of public safety. This goal is achieved through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws which were enacted to promote the safety of the community

The Uniform Division Headquarters is located at the Community Correctional Center, 805 Professional Blvd. and may be contacted directly at 706-876-1447.
