ARPA Nonprofit Grant Information

American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA)On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (H.R. 1319) into law. The $1.9 trillion package is intended to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including the public health and economic impacts. As a result of this Act, Whitfield County received direct funding from the U.S. Treasury of $20,322,762. The rules regarding how this funding can be spent are described in the Treasury’s Final Rule that was issued on January 11, 2022. As allowed by the Final Rule, the Board of Commissioners of Whitfield County has set aside $1,016,138 (5%) of these funds to award to eligible nonprofit organizations for reimbursement of lost revenue and COVID-19 related expenses and for programs that are eligible uses per Treasury guidelines and benefit citizens of Whitfield County.
