Local Students Urged to Apply for Emergency Management Council
No one is ever too young to involved in emergency preparedness, officials with Whitfield County Emergency Management point out.
Youth from across the nation have the opportunity to do just that while making a difference and transforming resiliency for their communities. Students that are in 8th -11th grades are invited to apply to join the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s Youth Preparedness Council.
Prater's Mill Historic Site Seeks Volunteers
On Saturday, April 1, 2017, history buffs, community leaders and preservationists will team up with the Civil War Trust at more than 130 sites in 30 states to answer the call to service on Park Day. Celebrating over 20 successful years, Park Day has attracted volunteers of all ages and abilities bound by their dedication to serving their communities at historic sites nationwide.
